Ebuyer are doing an acer one model for £150:

Looks like an awesome price – what is the difference between that one and the other acer ones on the website that are around £300?

    e.g.

I can read the data but don’t understand where the bid price diff is coming from.

windows vs linux?[/quote]Oh aye that must be it. That linux lite set up looks bobbins tbh. Looks like you can put xp on it though.

You need to bear in mind that these are NOT laptops. They are netbooks. They have a low powered processor, are much smaller than conventional laptops with small keyboards and more importantly NO DVD drive.
They are designed to be ultra-portable internet surfing devices not fully functioning laptops.

Having said that, I’ve got one (like the first link) and for browsing the web from my sofa it’s ideal. As it runs Linux as opposed to Windows it boots up and is ready to go in less than a minute, the keyboard and mouse are a bit fiddly but that’s to be expected.

A full size laptop will be about £400 minimum
