One of my twins goes for jam, the other syrup and I prefer a little sprinkling of sugar. What’s your tipple? Anyone tried salt?!

had salt once in scotland, was pretty good actually. they don’t put it on the top, it goes in the pan. i have syrup, and sometimes cream if there is any. i am getting fat tho. have had a stint of honey in the past but expensive… how do you do yours? i soak over night, half a cup oats, half a cup milk and half a cup water, wake up, put it on a low light and its ready by the time i’m dressed. yummy

Oats, pan, skimmed, simmer while drinking tea. Forget about it, remember, add more milk & eventually consume. Sometimes using a bowl.

Dried fruit- raisins usually and like this:

Oats and a little water in the pan
heat slightly until thick but not soggy
Arrange in a shape of your favourite mountain
Add a lake of milk (any flavour) at the base and add an action sequence of raisins on the slopes

Following a similar threas last winter I tried chunks of marzipan broken into it before cooking and it was really nice. If you like marzipan, of course…

I wonder if they managed to get horse meat in their porridge too? 😀

Normally a guilty swirl of golden syrup for me. OR banana and maple syrup.

    Blackcurrant jam.

Ideally it would be my Dad’s homemade blackcurrant jam, but he’s dead and Mum sold all our blackcurrant bushes to a bloke down the road.

Sometimes just brown sugar or maple syrup.

Honey and banana – hot porridge poured over the banana in the bowel so it warms it up

1/2 cup oats, 3/4 cup milk, 1/2 cup water.

Splash of cold milk at the end to loosen it up
