I had a fiber flare – loved it – and I didn’t kill it. I know lots did, but the newer USB ones were apparently better.

Anyway, you can’t seem to get them any more. What’s similar for all-round visibility? I want to mount a pair on the uprights on a chariot/trailer.

n.b. Anything that uses non-recyclable CR2032 or similar batteries can rot in silicon hell.

Cycle Surgery list them as in stock.

Both my original flares still work after many years’ service.

I had one ofnhe original red ones that run on aaa batteries. I think I lucked out in a sale as I didn’t it anything near whatbshops seem to charge for them now.

It lasted about 3 winters of commuting most days but when I got it out to use last year it wouldn’t work. No obvious reason why it wouldn’t – but nonlife from it at all. Would quite like another bit USB charging would be nice but I’m too tight to pay £30 for a rear light!

£60 for a couple of red led lights in a tube?

    that’s mental!

if you don’t have a pump for the trailer. What about one of these for one side:

and a few of these for the other:

How cheap are those last linked rear lights?!!

So cheap I’ve ordered a couple out of curiosity. Had an email to say they’ve been dispatched this morning – will update how good / bad they are once they’ve arrived.

Thinking I’ll put one on each seatstay to compliment the proper rear light I have on the seatpost. It’s where I used to put my fibre flare before it died on me.
