Am I going to need to remove can, unscrew and reseat the seal?
It has been like this since new (Feb) with no ill effects.

Yes. Do it, then you can stop worrying.

It would look like a lubrication issue
or just plainly a naff seal
    it does happen
i would get a new one personally.

    IT’s fine.

Just remove the can, and push it back in.

All it is is a ‘dust scraper’. The seals are behind this.

Thought is was almost insignificant – but about to attempt surgery now.

if i was you, if you have any float fluid (Or whatever its called) chuck some of that over the seals from unside just to make sure everythings nice and lubed.

No. Just let all the air out and remove the reducers from the end. Thread a bit of rag through the eyelet on the end of the shock shaft to retard the aircan if it decides to pop-off.

You’ll find when you take the can off and remove the dust seal that there are two lips which hold the air seal between two white plastic c-rings.The outer lip will be bent outwards and pushing the dust wiper outwards. This happens when the -ve chamber gets over pressurised by air bypassing the main seal,it usually leads to ‘stuck down’ syndrome but does this aswell.
You’ll need a new air can and a seal kit.

I had a similar looking problem on a RP2, the seat had partially collapsed and yes new aircan and seal kit (under warranty tho).

It is well intended, but diamonds lie within.
    Any idea why this happened?

Mine did this, infact, it was like it when I bought it second hand from here, but since I was going to put a low volume aircan on and have it pushed anyway, I didn’t really care.

The lip in mine was actually fractured off the main aircan, although it still held air fine.

Off to MOJO with a copy of the receipt – warranty job.
Any idea how it happened? It held air fine and worked fine.
It is quite a solid metal lip that has been ripped up and broken from the can.
