Need to make a blackboard this weekend.

    Buy wood.
    Buy blackboard paint.
    Combine.

But what wood (from B&Q or similar) should I get?

    MDF – smooth surfaced.

9 MM MDF, buy a whole sheet and then get them to cut it for you, most stores have a cutting service.

Dont forget to get some chalk, pound shops for cheap chalk.

    thanks.
Yeah I got them to cut something last week for the first time on their funky stand up cutting machine.

Am I supposed to rub chalk all over it and then clean off before first use?

Yes but put a couple of coats of blackboard paint on the wood first 😉
