I ask this question as I am not sure if the Garmin ANT+ heart rate monitor is compatible as I don't know if Android supports the ANT+ radio technology. I t seems a better option than bluetooth due to low power consumption.

Pretty sure that the Desire doesn't support ANT+, so it'll have to be Bluetooth.

If ANT+ isn't bluetooth/wireless based then Android phones won't work with it.

I would buy the Polar Bluetooth one, after all they sell it on their site, so I guess it works with their software.
The ANT one will only work on some phones that support ANT, I think only Sony.

Basically I think it's the Polar one which required batteries in the transmitter

Hi
I use the Zepher one with RunGPS. It works well and had no real issues. The only problem was I had to send the strap back as one of the press stud connectors came off. This was due to sweat corroding it.
Was replaced with no quibble.
You also have to remember to take the transmitter off the belt when not using it as the battery drains.

Hmmm, I was thinking of getting the Polar bluetooth HRM but read a review which, basically, said it doesn't work if you put your phone in your jersey pocket as the bluetooth signal isn't strong enough.
Has anyone experienced any problems like this? I thought BT was supposed to be fairly strong over a short range so the review could all be boll*cks...

You can show the data in the wee chart where the altitude/speed/cadence one is and it shows max/avg in the summary data for the workout.
Pretty basic really. If I was that interested in HR data I'd be using something like Garmin Training Centre or Sporttracks.
