I realise the OP has already ordered some socks, but I have the Madison deep winter ones too. Mine are an argyle pattern, so I haven’t lost them yet. No complaints.

I like Endura Thermolite socks. They are rather warm, and pretty cheap, lasting a few years anyway. Only problem is they are a bit short, can get a gap between the top of the socks and my tights.
The Prendas winter socks are quite nice as well.
