    See photo above. How did this happen? Bad quality tyre? Running pressure too low? Or Pressure too high? Need stronger tyre? That one is the Hutchinson Toro tubeless, and I’m running it tubeless. Stay inflated properly but as soon as I go riding, it goes flat.

    The rim has abraded the sidewall due to the tyre being too fat for the rim or the pressure too low.

    In the days of rim brakes a similar failure was common when the blocks wore and began to rub the tyre.

    Also looks like you have a dent, with some abrasion on the rim – which would have worn a hole in the sidewall. If you can see some roughness on the rim, you’ll need to use some emery paper to smooth the finish off, before putting a new tyre on.
