As the nights are getting shorter now, and no doubt the weather starts to turn, i'm now commuting so need some decent riding trousers to keep me dry on those rotton days.

They can also make a handy tripple up for weekend riding of the smaller bikes and also something I can wear for DH racing.

I looked at the Gore Alp X, but they seem to be discontinued now, Or the Endura Venturi? Any reviews of these kicking around or first hand experiences?

I appreciate these are the thinner variety of trousers for the more DH orientated side of things, but don't want the horrible big, bulky alternatives that have no other real use.
