“Grease is the word” from the film. I was about 6 1/2 at the time. I feel dirty now

It was from Dickenson Rd market in Longsight, near my Nanna’s house. Is it still there?

I didn’t buy it myself, but I was given it…there’s an interesting backstory involving a flat sold at auction in Manchester and several piles of boxes.

Was never a 7 inch single buyer so don’t recall exactly as they were just not significant to me, but had to buy Crass singles as they weren’t on albums, so probably one of those, probably Big A little A.

Sparks – This Town ain’t Big Enough for the Both of Us (1974 !)

Less cool perhaps was buying Waterloo from Abba

Uptown Top Rankin by Althea and Donna on 7″.

My first record player could play at 78rpm. The above sounded very amusing at that speed, as did the Smurf Song at 33 rpm

I have never bought a single.

I should explain that it was mostly because I didn’t want to spend the money, I’d rather buy albums
