    … that let you watch iPlayer and whatnot? Mentioned on here a few times. I found Chromecast but that’s just streaming from your laptop etc. I wanted to suggest a way for my dad to watch iPlayer on his TV for minimum expense, and without plugging his ancient laptop in.

    Nowtv box for a tenner would be my suggestion. Basically a cut down roku lt, you need a Nowtv account (free) but not a subscription. It’s pretty nobbled software wise, but you can get iplayer & demand5 and a few other things. Wifi only if that matters

    Roku is at the top of my list. it can stream netflix and stream from a fileshare

    Raspberry pi with xbmc works perfectly for that sort of thing and is pretty cheap as well.

    if it’s now then one of the above, wait till Chromecast is released and see what else is enabled. It’s not streaming from a laptop but it needs controlled by one or an android device.
