Its got to be Maxxis d/h tyres. Minion supertacky up front, & High Roller 60a at the rear.

For doing rad super gnar skidz on the way down, innit.

    😉

I’m always confused about tyres. I suspect that my current choice is a bit shash.2.4″ mountain king on front, 2.3″ vertical on rear. Thoughts?

I have to say that the sort of elite mountain bikers with decades of mountaineering experience under their belts, the best of the best, who are the only tiny group of mountain bikers who could possibly venture out onto THE plateau, wouldn’t need to ask this question. If you have to ask, you shouldn’t be there, simple as.

I’d ask yourself some serious questions before even thinking about going near the plateau – are you tough enough, are you fit enough, do you know the difference between a capercaillie and a grand tetras and an elk, and so forth. The question of ‘what tyres’ should be right at the bottom of that list.
