Afternoon folks. Am going to look at some used Boxxer RCs at the weekend the seller lives locally. Apart from cosmetic condition is there anything I can check properly while the forks aren’t attached to a bike?

    cheers

They’re pretty straightforward forks tbh. Should feel smooth off the top, not much resistance to a bump. You might want to spin the rebound and make sure you can tell it’s making a difference (at full, it should be very slow). Quite hard to check bushings tbh but if they’re worn, with boxxers, the fork tends to go a bit stiff/notchy.

Condition’s a reasonable indicator tbh, dh forks get used hard so generally will look shagged before they’re actually shagged. If they look good, fair chance they are good.
