I put a large piece under my bike whenever I’m doing something that involves oil or brake fluid, etc. If I spill any then it soaks into the carpet rather than forming a slick on the floor (which can take some effort to remove). The carpet is then rolled up and stashed. When it becomes utterly saturated then just throw it away and use another bit.
