What the hell is wrong with me

Absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about, GP’S see this several times a day. And if it is depression it is not different than any other ailments that need support / treatment to help you feel better.
Stevet1Free MemberDunno if I missed it but is moving to Greece off the table then? I hear good times ahead for them.
Pawsy_BearFree MemberMost things can be put down to stress. I would see my GP but I would also think about the real causes. Something else needs to change in your life. I dont advocate pills. No point in continuing in same way if its making you ill, medication isnt going to solve the cause. You need to change your life style; less stress, more exercise better diet. It might mean less money but without your health you have nothing. I opted for change, just about to go out on bike for 4 hours plus in this great weather. My stress will be completing that techy DH before a pie and coffee 🙂 Im not rich but Im rich in other ways
polarisandyFree MemberCommon Gp presentation known as TATT. Tired all the time.
Perfectly reasonable cause to attend your docs.
Low mood, stress is often the cause but for me a diagnosis of exclusion. My approach
Full history and review of systems
General examination (anaem, jaundice, chest, abdo, BP, pulse, heart etc)
Urine dip test
PHQ9 & GAD score sheets
Bloods (FBC, ferritin, B12, folate, LFT, U&E, TSH, HbA1C/glucose, Vit D, CRP, Coeliacs serology, AA’s, viral screen, ??Lymes serology, ??PSA)
The list isn’t exhaustive and sometimes dictated by sex, age, symps.Others may do it differently for their own reasons/experience.
Go and see a Doctor, get well soon.
EDIT, read some more of the comments above. Vit D testing for deficiency and insufficiency has been available to my knowledge for a long time in my area.
brooessFree MemberI have had prostaitis in the past and a urethral stricture due to previous kidney stones scraping down my sensitive sausage. But I think it maybe stress related the urinary problems. As in Greece I was relaxed.
I’m booked to visit the Gp to see what he can do.Interesting that mirrors my experience… I’ve not been able to ride my bike (my usual stress-reliever) since July after breaking my wrist and I’m stressed and feeling very negative from my result-free job hunt…
And last week I went down with some bladder/uninary infection. Doctor couldn’t find anything when he tested but I’m on antibiotics to try and sort it. Something similar happened years ago when I was recovering from a broken collarbone.
So maybe there’s a connection with stress/depression and random infections… I assume a weakened immune system. Worth mentioning the recurrence of the urinary thing to your GP anyway
chakapingFree MemberOP – hope you’re making an appointment to see your GP, depression is a git and hopefully it’ll make you feel better to be doing something about it.

You need a turbo trainer if you’re not getting any proper aerobic exercise now pal. Seriously. Was a life-saver for me when I broke my arm.
jambalayaFree MemberOP, you have taken a massive first positive step by sharing your concerns here. Not sure how your relationship is with your partner but you should speak with her about it too. Let her know you plan to go to the doctor. As you say yourself the holiday time “broke the cycle / mood” you where in, you just need to recreate that or find the key to unlock the “normal you”
Good luck and keep talking about it
Finally going to the loo only once an hour is a luxury you will remember once you get older 😳
chipFree MemberFeel for you OP, I have been suffering this year too with all the same symptoms as you plus constant anxiety.
I have been on antidepressants for six months or so, citalopram for two months before being changed to sertraline.I was expecting a quick fix hoping they would literally be happy pills but no such luck.
It has been a long road road but I think I am starting to see the light.See your GP and give what ever they suggest a fair wack as it will take time.
Wish you well.
jamj1974Full MemberSounds like depression to me OP. Definitely go for a chat with your doctor.
allan23Free MemberMake that GP appointment.
Sounds like me 4 or 5 years ago and I ended up with a diabetes diagnosis. I’d left it a while as I didn’t feel too bad, was in a stressy job and wasn’t overweight or had lost loads of weight rapidly. Thought it was just the stress.
Suspect I was running around with stupidly high blood sugar for 3 or four years before diagnosis – fasting levels were around 15 and I was between 25 and 30 after meals. You don’t die (well not immediately anyway) and the symptoms creep up slowly so you get used to them.
Problem is, the longer you leave it the worse it gets. I have mild nerve damage – numb feet and sense of temperature is a bit screwed. I have to go to York Hospital once a month to get injections in my eyeballs and I have bad problems keeping energy levels up when riding a bike.
Wouldn’t want to wish it on anyone so it’s really worth ruling it out or dealing with it if it is diabetes.
Good luck.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberI must admit just getting it out in the open on here has helped. My missus has noticed my change in mood and is fully supportive so we are off to the Gp on Monday. And mum has noticed also and has said the same thing gp also.
Also missus has said she wants another mountain bike and that made me happy when we were doing that together. So I have a plan of action and feeling better for that.
Will ask about a vitamin D test as I can see that causing the fatigue. I don’t think I’m diabetic but I’m sure the GP Will want bloods doing and maybe a referal to urology about the peeing issue. My problem is I try to make sure everyone else is happy and ok and neglect my own health according to my mum and missus.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberJust want to say thank you for all the support and advice I have received on here. Much appreciated.
