I currently have a 2009 Kona Dawg, I havce recently changed the bars to high riser Easton EA50 685 mm bars to give some extra lift, ( I have done this as over recent months have found my bike position uncomfortable, especially on climbs, shoudl I now also look at chaning out the 90 mm stem for a 110 / 120 stem ?? what affects would this have, I am 16 stone and 6ft 2 so feel the normal kona dawg equip fairly cramped. Advice be good

    Thanks

Longer stem will slow the steering a tad and stretch you out maybe back to being uncomfortable again, what size frame do you have? 🙂

18 inch I do prefer the smaller frame and higher seat position

I ride a 2008 18in Dawg Deluxe and I am 6ft 3in. I admit it is a little too short sometimes for XC (I am on the hunt for a 19in model) but I put a Thomson Elite Layback seatpost on and a Thomson X4 (0 rise 70mm) stem with low rise Deity Dirty Thirty bars (cut to 700mm) and it feels great. Always found a longer stem made the steering awful when riding trails.
