While I was stood outside watching for Perseids (saw 3 in no time) I noticed a steady light heading from South to North, too quick for an aircraft, about the same speed as the ISS. The only reference/guide I have is http://spaceweather.com/flybys/search_results.php?lat=54.4833&long=-1.68333&offset=0&country=GB&state=North%20Yorkshire&city=Aldbrough but Lacrosse 5 doesn’t go that way apparently!

    Anyone?

Go to a proper dark sky park/area, the amount of satellites you see in the dead of night can be amazing.

I remember seeing Colosseum II at the Reading Festival about 40 years ago. They were rubbish.

Cheers Perchy, looking at your link it appears that Genesis is non operational so I’ll assume that the one’s listed om my link are all active ones.

Does ‘non operational’ mean that it isn’t still up there though? Straight question. Do they always cut the wires so that they fall back down after their operational life?

According to wiki it has another 2 years up there before it falls to earth.
Do you think that the animals they sent up in it are still alive?

Just think of all the binge-watching of box-sets they can look forward to!
