I got a cheap pair of SJS cycles cheap panniers off a mate for a cheap £10. After a few months of use they have truly excelled at demonstrating that “you get what you pay for”. Virtually every part has broken/torn/fallen off, and I realised that my regular jumping off kerbs and hitting a few doubles on the way home may have put excessive stress on the hangy bits.
So if I were to invest in a set of rugged panniers to last me a while, what brands can handle a bit of rufty tufty? ta

Correct me if I’m wrong, but they don’t design panniers with doubles in mind. I suggest you either use a backpack or stick to the tarmac.

Had to laugh when I read the title…you don’t half get some daft ones on this forum!

    Better panniers will last longer.

I have some Carradice Super C’s, daily use for 10 years, pretty good nick, only the odd kerb-hop though.

Do Deuter or Dakine not do Gnarl Panniers? 😆

Hey if nothing else it teaches you to land smoothly.
I’m serious here, look it’s now 1:30. I will investigate Carradice!
