  • What pads – sintered or organic

Strangely I can make pads last AGES (in the sense, I’ve never bought new ones!)

Heading on a long ride far away soon, so would benefit from spares in the bag.

Realistically, what do i want? Sintered/organic?

I ride muddy/sandy rides at times, but as stated, not yet worn out pads after several months… so would 4 pairs of organic suffice??

Ohh, you didn’t wanna get sintered. They’re rubbish.

try and bed them in before you go out on a long ride – then take them out and put the olds back in… it will mean you don’t need the faff of doing a proper bed in when you get there… and the disc surface will still be a near enough shape to make the bed in process still valid

Sintered for ultimate stopping power and wet muddy conditions, which in the UK is almost always. Organic if you are having problems with your brakes overheating – which in the UK would be almost never.

Just don’t get sintered if you are planning to use them soewhere like Afan. They will fail at the first corner and you may die.

    See you Saturday 😉

Ride down a long hill on the road and get them good an hot. Repeat until brakes feel nice and sharp.

I heard you have to get them nice and hot, then lick them…..

Organic ones stop you better, but wear out faster.
Sintered don’t stop you so good but last longer.

Organic on the front, sintered on the back.
