Bruneep, I don't have a mrs, but if you do, we could even have an arm wrestle to see who finishes where.

I'm going to have a go at lobster thermidor
It'll probably be a disaster, so fingers crossed
Not sure about starter/pudding yet, might go for some scallops.
Cheers, Rich

Ok ok, you do need pancetta if you're doing it properly but as the lad doesn't want to buy anything specific it can work. It is the sauce, or lack of, that makes it "proper" in my eyes compared to the creamy stuff out of a jar.
Traditionally the proper stuff is made with Guanciale not pancetta isn't it?

If i cooked a steak for my girlfriend she'd be very much of the opinion that i'd just cooked what i wanted to eat! She's not vegetarian but very rarely eats red meat.
pudding? i've made this before

not only is it really nice, it also gets you suprisinly drunk! You have to make sure everythings refridgerated before starting to keep the bubbles in.i just served it in some wine glasses. girlf was suitbaly impressed!

Last weekend we did a tapas thing. Very little cooking. Serve it all up together.
Prawn cocktail (except I used lobster, but just the same)
mozarella & tomatoes
Serrano ham (except I used acorn fed jamon iberico, but just the same)
crusty baguette
add a few more dishes and it'll be lovely.Posted 2 years ago #
