I need a new mail client to handle my personal stuff – three IMAP accounts, a couple of hotmail accounts and icloud. For the past seven or eight years I’ve been running Opera, which was great ’till they climbed into bed with Chrome broke everything after version 12.

It needs to be compact (opera idling takes 290mb or ram), fast, with a good search facility. It cant be outlook as that’s for my work stuff and Windows Live Mail has a habit of losing things.

So what would people recommend? It’d be nice to have something integrated with firefox – is Thunderbird what I’m looking for?

Well, I’ve used Live Mail since it was Internet Mail and News and never lost anything, so I’d chalk that down to user error. (-:

Thunderbird perhaps? I’ve not looked at it in years, mind.
