Generally at the pointiest part of the crop. Most people have packed up and gone home by the time I cross the finish line. The officials have usually stopped counting by then too.

I used to race to race, now I just do it to meet new people and see a new part of the countryside. Frequent stopping for pics or faffing with GoPro cams is mandatory.
Better than exploring solo and getting horribly lost which is what I do when I’m not racing.

Anywhere between 20th to 10th in 8-24hr stuff or stage racing in the UK at the moment but only recently, very much a ‘midpacker’ before that.

Neil, same as you, 3rd in points in Expert this year and 2nd points in NPS. So elite next year.

Have you got your letter from BC yet?

I dont ride cross because its horriable and involves get muddy eughhhh!

3rd cat road but that only ever done 5 road races. {planning on hitting that a bit more next year.

Hi Rich spoke to BC and you just get a new licence end of the year http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/mtb/article/mtbst_Mountain-Bike-Category-System-Explained

I do like cx but TBH when it gets to cold i’ll go on the turbo, not doing the trophy as have been travaling all season, what bike you racing on next year i’m going full sus 29er. Being realistic about next season my goal is to just stay in elite

You’ll be fine in Elite. Getting upgraded is far harder than staying up.

Vets – *the wrong side of mid pack depending on how I feel on the day.

*First season of racing anything so I thought I’d ease myself in gently by doing cyclocross. 😯

Plan to do a winter closed circuit road series in the new year and hopefully get to 3rd cat in time for the summer with help form team mates. Also going to be doing mountain bike racing too.

Have only ever ridden bikes for fun but I am enjoying the competitive side of riding so a structured training regime will be started in January.

About the same as MM 😕

But, I have a new frame, so it’s all going to be different next season! 8)

LAst year as a Vet, so I’d better make it count. Or look forward to a lap fewer in 2013…

According to that link then elite, but given the larger field sizes in the UK I’d stick with Expert.

Road = LVRC 50-55 year group mid pack overal inc 40 up.
Cross/BC in V50, last third overall i.e inc seniors.
Cross/LVRC 19th overal in Nat Champs
XC = Top ten, but I pack if the course looks dodgy. Can’t risk injury.
