Sadly my £35 mower has decided to give up the ghost after 8 years of abuse use.
Our garden is medium sized, more importantly it is an old railway embankment now terraced. Rough ground and a couple of steep bits to mow.
Suggest me a mower, under or around £200 for this.
So far I have found an AL-KO for £210, and a good few cheap Hyundai’s. Both are steel deck, bearing’d wheels and engines I can fix/get parts for.

Nonda OBV but a bit more than your paltry £200 😉

One of these praps: Kaaz/Nonda Hybrid

I got the one with the roller and it’s a beast.

I bought an Al-Ko last year, great on rough ground but it was about £350 I think.

I’m not really up with what’s considered good or not brand wise but I bought a petrol Qualcast self propelled one the other week from Argos for £199, I like that so far. Had something like 170 positive reviews?

I’d also recommend the Honda Izzy but only ‘coz I’ve got one. My mate has a bigger garden than me and has had a mountfield-hp185-45cm-125cc-hand-propelled-rotary-petrol-lawn-mower for 5/6 years with no probs.

I tried posting a link but failed

Get yourself to the tip….I bought a Hayter Hawk from our local lads for a tenner. Cleaned the filter, plug and new petrol, and it’s the nuts!

That’s pretty much what I did last time. The wheel lifting mechanism has now snapped, the engine is still a first time starter…

Izy is a bit more than my £200

    Only by £84 though,

Really, it’s worth that bit more.

Having not mowed the lawn much wedged a block of wood into the lifting mechanism, I have managed another couple of months from the beast.

It’s coming down to local shop with Viking 248 for £220 or much cheaper Hyundai at £150 (according to sales speil Hyundai are selling cheap at the moment for market share, not reflection of quality…hmmm)

I think am heading for the Viking, unless anyone has other suggestion.

its a waste tbh. Much heavier than an electric with very little benefit. I want a roller but cant afford one.

Actually i want a gardener but i cant afford one of those either.
