the gill pro-speed was excellent value at 75 quid-odd last year ( albeit discounted ), but this year is a dhb something, doesn’t look as nice ( IMO ), and is over 110 quid.

decide which is more important to you waterproofing or breathability, as the claims of some makers are a bit far fetched TBH. What’s your budget?

Nothing waterproof is breathable.

if you run warm/hot you will sweat even at a brisk walk, cycling you will be soaked!

I have various goretex, eVent items, ditched them in favour of a Rab Vapour-Rise and a regular application of DWR spray. Ultra breathable, windproof (95%), and shrugs off most heavy showers. Also dries very quickly.

Waterproofs are a last resort for me, i find them uncomfortably warm.
