Looking at both these Cotic bikes but cannot decide between them.

One has flat bars the other drops of course but which is best for a commute or the odd track or cycle path ride?

In addition what is the difference between the old and new escapade?

Roadrat is flat, Escapade drops – escapade is shorter in the TT as a result

New Escapade has vertical drop, the older one (and the roadrat) have horizontal drops for singlespeed (but include a gear hanger also)

Some folks disliked the horizontal drops for wheel changes, esp with mudguards.

Other than that, the Roadrat has the ace Gunmetal colour.

    Thx George

I am torn I must admit

Road rat seems more emotionally pulling me but I do get on with drops as I have a road bike.

Both I guess can fit fatter tyres

For mud guards then escapade might be better

I have an older Roadrat in road bike configuration. Its great but the only thing i’d change is the horizontal dropouts. So i’d say choose on whether you want (or care) about the type of rear dropout.

I’ve got quite a short stem on the RR to counter the longer TT, but it still feels great to ride.
