Got some old style(non lock-on)grips to fit and stay put? I’ve been using lock-ons for about 10 years now and can’t remember how to get the old style grips on and stay put. Any help appreciated.

Cable ties, one each near break end.

used to use hairspray, spray, slide grips on, allow to dry, stuck, never lasts long though. Lock on’s are peanuts these days.. SS do em for 7.99 delivered. Similar cheapness on crc.

hair spray or spray mount. make sure you degrease the bars before fitting and leave overnight (at least) before riding.

    Superglue.

Then acetone (nail polish remover) to remove it.

I’ve used hairspray, but true enough, I found GT85 worked better. Much less of a faff.

I always used the cheapest stickiest hair spray I could find.

Dampstart works wonders. Its actually an ignition system sealant, but works a treat on grips!
