For those who remember my previous name of MilitantGraham, it’s nothing do with politics or religion, it refers to my AEC Militant recovery truck.
A friend of a friend owns a motocross practice track.
His son was clearing a path alongside a stream, when the loading shovel he was driving slipped backwards in to the water.
They tried getting it out with a tractor, but ended up seizing the engine, probably because it was on such a steep angle the oil pick up pipe was out of the oil.
I went down with the Militant to winch it out.

Once it was out of the hole, I towed it up to the road, ready to be low loadered away for scrap.

I stalled it. 😳
I ran out of revs on that short bank, so I stopped to change down a gear.
The engine moves slightly on it’s mountings and when I stop facing up hill, it can move the throttle linkage slightly past it’s normal idle position and stop the engine.
Yes, the clutch drags a bit as well. It doesn’t like going in to gear while stationary.
