Woke up at some point this morning with searing pain along the top of one foot. From where the shin turns into the foot down almost to where my toes attach. If I curl my foot/toes up there is no real pain, but if I try to point my toes it’s agony. If I cross my feet so that the top of the bad foot is touching the other foot it’s really painful, but the other way round I can’t feel a thing. Lying on one side so that foot is inner ankle down is fine, but on the other side with that foot outer ankle down is again excruciating. I know that I sometimes stretch in the night and kind of tense everything and point my toes straight, but is it even possible to pull or stretch a ligament or something just doing that? This is the second time this has happened, and neither followed any sort of impact or mishap.

sounds worryingly like a symptom of getting old to me 🙂

Thanks yunki, that’s put my mind at rest. Do you mean the random injury or having no memory of how it happened!
