on a 2×10 would be close to a 34-36 on 1×10? Thinking of going 1×10 but want to try and simulate the same gearing on my 2×10 before I take the plunge.

Assuming by “34-36” you mean 34T front and 36T rear, and assuming you have a 22T ring… a 20-21T on the rear.

what gearing is currently fitted to your 2×10 setup? and what do you plan to use for the 1×10?

Sorry guys, should have been more specific. Running X9 2×10. Current is 26/39 crank and 12-36 cassette. Plan to go 34t front and keep rear.

24-25T sprocket, then.

The maths ain’t hard: you’re aiming for 34/36=0.94, just multiply your chainring size by that.
