    Any recommendations? iTunes only ‘fraid.

I like films like: Inception, the Insider, Badwr Meinhoff, Munich, Bourne, Bond, Jean du Florette, Big Blue, Life is Beautiful, Apocalypse Now, High Fidelity, etc

It’s a few years old now but have you seen Ex-Machina? Worth a look. Sicario is pretty decent too but I was just left a tiny bit underwhelmed by the ending.

If you like Bourne/Bond, The Accountant was better than I’d expected.

Sicario looks ok, what’s Blunt like tho as I was a bit underwhelmed by her performance in Girl on Train…

Completely and utterly unconvincing. She’s okay when she has to look miserable or upset at something but when she needs to move around, say with a gun ( I think she even has a fight scene iirc) it’s laughable.

Luckily Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Torro are pretty excellent.

Before Sunrise (1998) Ethan Hawke & Julie Delpie

    Nesbo’s Headhunters (2011)

    The Intouchables (2011)

All very different. All sublimely entertaining IMO

How about a modern day cowboy movie ?

    Hell or high Water

Action with social commentary…. Really enjoyed it. In fact found myself on the edge of my seat towards the end.

    And

    Jeff Bridges is in it

Last film I watched was ‘The Road’ – post-apocalyptic film where not that much happens but is big on tension, atmosphere and plain dread. Based on a pulitzer prize winning book. Its not one to watch if you’re feeling a bit emotionally unstable though as I was. I blubbed like a baby at the end.

EDIT: I thought it was brilliant however

The Road … Film and book are old favourites on here.

And as much I…. enjoyed? No… Loved? No… was transfixed? Yeah … by both, now I’ve got a lad coming up to that age they might leave even more of an impression. And I’m honestly a little bit scared by that…. haunting !!

Young Offenders is very amusing, Irish film about two chavs trying to make it big. Good bit of biking in it too.

    Whiplash is brilliant

    In Bruges

Kingsman tickled me recently, it’s absurd but just the right side of absurd.

True Grit may still be on iplayer. A really excellent film.

    …except Hail Caesar.

Edge of Tomorrow is a hoot. Ridiculous, but good. Not only Blunt but Cruise too so you’ll have to forgive it a lot before you even start. I liked Sicario.

Or like davros says, True Grit if it’s still on iPlayer for nowt.

I have bookmarked some of the suggestions, but ended up watching Ferris Buellers Day Off and then fell asleep after the surf scene in Apocalypse Now 🙂
