It means it’s designed to work with cassettes with a smallest sprocket of 11 or 12t and a largest sprocket of 28,30 or 32t.

so what happens if the largest sprocket is a 25t?

It won’t work quite as nicely as shimano would like.

so if im running a long cage on a 25t am i better off getting a short cage?

Well it will shift marginally better and look nicer so yes 🙂

but its cheaper to get a cassette with a 28t maximum! thats my plan

Or just leave the 25 on there and don’t worry about it.

You might be able to climb more, but you will loose speed…so get the legs going, take the smaller tooth and accept you’ll work harder on the climbs but you’ll roast the competition on everything else!

Yes, smaller sprockets make you faster.

Loose speed is a problem. You need to harness it. A 23 is best for this.

what I’m interested in is the 1T sprocket. Anyone got pictures?
