My mum and dad are grandma and grandad (or more often GRANDAD!, becuase he's always going to sleep in the chair and the girls love waking him up and making him jump)
Wife's mother is Nanny Sparkles, named by my eldest because of her very sparkly necklaces.
We asked them what they'd prefer to be called and went with that.
Ask the grandparents. My wife's mum is much older than my folks and prefers Nanny. My folks are grandma and grandad and my grandma (his great grandmother) is gran gran.
We always refer to grandparents by reference to what he calls them if hhe is present.
I think it helps if all have different names too.
On the father's side i.e. mine Grandad and Granny but both alas are dead, on the mother's side, Grandpa and Grandma, as it was for me, and my father, and his forefather etc.
Mine were Grandma and Granddad on one side and Nanny and Pop on the other. The latter were very young when I was born, hence who wants to be called Granddad at 42?
My friend's daughter has Granny Rotherham and Granny Seaside... No contest there, is there?
we've got Nanny Welsh and Nanny Scottish and then Grandpa James and Grandpa John.
We asked both our parents what they would like the girls to call them by and both sets weren't bothered really, but the Mums wanted to be Nanny as it doesn't sound as old as Grandma

my nephew calls my dad 'Bandad', which I think is great.
my niece calls her parents 'Mummadadda' (for either parent), she is only 18 months though

Grans are called grans. Her side grandad, My side Di. pronounced digh. the igh said like you would in fight.
Nana who bakes biscuits and Nana who doesn't bake biscuits is how my 4yr old differentiates his nans.
And his younger brother calls her Biccit nana ....
Makes me laugh everytime.
