    We’ve a budget of <£300. We like the sound of;

    Nikon Coolpix P310 or
    Canon Powershot S100

    Any other recommendations or advice?

    Thanks

    [*]I had the Canon S90 (old S95/S100) and it took brilliant pics, until I dropped it in a Lake. I generally have Panasonics tho, reason for the S90 purchase was it is so small, The Pani LX5/7 was bulkier.
    Either of those will be good tho, not sure about the others. Don’t know that much about it, but default for me was buying a compact with a big sensor, the list was/is fairly short.

    I recently went through a research of what’s was out there and the result was get a S100…

    Not necessarily the *best* but it’s pretty small, can shoot in RAW and has manual feature capability.

    I know people who have various models of the S variety and they seem to produce pretty good images all things considered.

    This tickedall the right boxes for me.

    Think you can get them in silver for < £280 from John Lewis atm…
