My BIL and I have bought a house that we’re reburbing and it seems like a good idea to use a collaborative to-do list or similar where we could detail the jobs that need doing.

I’m on Android and he’s on iOS, but we both have google accounts.

    What can you recommend?

Does Google Keep allow shared lists?

google keep is shareable, can do lists and reminders and has android and ios apps. Just share through your google accounts

we use it all the time.

Trello — not necessarily for reminders but for lists – pretty good.

Loads of options out there. Pick one that works best for you and your BIL. For example if you like your to dos quite graphical (Kanban board style) then Trello is a nice option. If you prefer text and ease of use and want to share visible comments on tasks and projects easily, Asana is a good call.

Hmmm not sure Keep is quite what I’m after – well it is, but it seems I can’t create sub-lists, i.e:
    Joiner
    – floor in Bedroom 1
    – skirting in Bedroom 1
    – skirting in hall

    Plasterer
    – kitchen ceiling

    Electrician
    – move sockets in kitchen

    …..etc.

and allow each item to be ticked off or details added. Stuff like that!

We use todoist… check the feature tables though as some require a subscription.

that’s getting towards a relational style almost, I’ve used mind maps – some may allow sharing — so you’d have tasks by room, then tasks and links by trade.. / person

Todoist works pretty well for me.

    +1 Trello

It’s very visual and draggy/droppy. Free. Easy to set up and maintain. Ideal for a house project as checklists and attachments are a doddle to use.

just create multiple notes, use colour coding for quick identification. You can drag notes around as well.
