  • What Chinese carbon disc road (not cross) frame for 30mm tyres

Loving my tubeless 30mm S-one tyres on my tripster but looking for a racier frame geometry. Looking for something less “upright” than the tripster so not keen on cross frames.

Think about transplanting everything to a Chinese carbon road frame for summer but while there’s a few frames that claim 28mm clearance, I haven’t seen any that categorically take 30s.

    Anyone any ideas?

Hong Fu FM166 is the most common one I know that might. Open mould that is re-badged by a few mainstream bike companies. It could be 3-4 year old design now (not that is necessarily a bad thing) so there might be alternatives. 30 might be a squeeze

edit: ignore me, I reckon 30 would be too tight if one also accounted for a bit of tyre deformation, which is likely because assuming you may be running lower pressure

In true STW style I’ll ignore what you’ve said… the Deng Fu FM298 is a cross bike, but pretty aggressive, 71.5 degree head tube (54cm) being the notable concession. Love my FM208 road frame.
