For the last couple of years I've used a simple LED thing. It lasts for ever, is pretty visible but doesn't help me see at all when there are no street lights.

Is there anything available, bright enough to see by on tarmac paths, <£30 with enough batterlife so I can get away charging it only once a week? (5+ hrs runtime).

Seen the ones on on-one reduced to £30 which is the best I've come across. Some on ebay as well but what do you use.

If you're near a computer all day, worth looking at USB-charging ones.

I've just ordered one of these for the darker nights:

Claimed 20 hours, although doesn't say in which mode. Takes AAs so can bung in some 2600mah rechargeables.
