I find that despite using a thick/thin chain ring and clutch rear mech I’m loosing the chain on rocky descents.

Any ideas/suggestions on which chainguide would fit my Jeffsy?

Low direct mount derailleur fixing, BB30 and no ISCG mounts 🙁

    Cheaper is better!

    Cheers

Something seattube mounted might do it. Hope and others do one

If you contact YT they will send you the front mech mount plate for whicha oneup chain guide fits I think. Check out the pinkbike Jeffsy thread for more details

No offence, but first thing to check, have you turned the clutch on?

I wonder if there is something in your setup causing the issue, as most people have very few problems.

I’ve been chainguide free on 3 bikes now a couple of years and have had a dropped chain a couple of times I reckon.

    Chainline?
    Back pedalling?
    Chain length all good?

    Just a thought.

Otherwise, I’d recommend the Blackspire trail guide which was the last one I used before being guide free.

If you want mega cheap DIY solution then get a 2″ length of alkathene water pipe and cable tie it to the chainstay. Split the chain, pass though the pipe and reattach. This was the quickest solution for me on a bike once, just as a stop=gap, and it worked so well it is still on there 🙂

    One-up BB mount?

I fitted this to my T130 which also has Raceface BB and Turbine cranks.

Makes all the difference, as I too was regularly loosing my chain on the rocky stuff. Works with Oval rings too. Neat, light and looks funky 🙂

Thanks russy, I’ve emailed YT and the oneup looks reasonable.
Hard to find anything concrete on the YT mount plate on the massive pinkbike thread!

Kayak, everything was fine until three days in the Alps last week.

It’s a sram mech so I think it’s automatic unlike Shimano.

Can’t mount on the bb because it’s pressfit.

    Sram clutch can be adjusted
