building a rigid knobbly tyred bike for touring and what used to be called rough stuff, tho i think the current term is bikepacking. looking for some swept bars, don’t fancy full on dropped bars cos i’m putting hydraulic brakes on, or bar ends cos i want to be near the levers as in flat bar mode. thoughts?

Same bars that you would normally use for riding a bike on singletrack.

The bars that you’re used to.

I like the On-One Og Bars. Comfy, reasonably wide, reasonable sweep, and only £20.

On one OG carbon bars turned upside down so they’re almost drops.

Bars with a straight wide section in the middle for strapping your sleeping bag too.

And cheap so you can afford a really nice, light, small packing, warm down sleeping bag.

On-One El Guapo’s fitted the bill for me.

On-One OGs and Fleegles for me. I prefer the OGs – more swept and more comfy.

You can get a dropbar that will take your hydraulics. Satori Minotaur aka One23 Bullbar – uses normal mtb bar diameter.

It’s a shallow drop, which I like. Very close to a real Old North Road bar.
