    Hi,

    Just recieved my bike today and wondered what on earth these bits are for…. a yellow block with shimano on it, a rubber strip and about six of these clips with bits on the side.

    The yellow thing is to put in the caliper when you bleed the brake to stop the pistons pushing out. The black clip is for the bolts that hold the caliper to the bike and are supposed to stop the bolts coming loose (unneccessary IMO) and the black strip I dunno. 🙂

    I think that the clips have something to do with the Shimano disc brakes you’re supposed to fit them over the heads of the bolts fixing the calipers to the mounts I think, to stop them unscrewing. The yellow block looks like a spacer pad for the disc brakes, when the disc brakes in packaged without the pads in it keeps the pistons in place.
