The pin housing on my gravity dropper has come adrift and I was thinking I could just glue it back together, two zip ties are doing the job adequately just now. But what kind of resin would I use?

I used Sikaflex to bond some solar panel mounts to the roof of our motorhome. Alu to Alu. Bit of faf cleaning and priming but a permanent join in every respect. Laterly been using Evo-stik It stays slightly flexible and is as strong as **** 😀

I would use Araldite or similar. Sandpaper the surface and immediately coat with glue, then the other surface, then clamp together. Don’t give the sanded surface time to oxidise.

Alexpalacefan’s link didn’t work for me, but I removed the www. and it did, try: thistothat.com

I think the official fix is epoxy adhesive, with a reinforcement option of drilling and tapping some holes and fitting grub screws.
