A 30k loop from Jevington on the South Downs this morning, and straight from the car park, it was dry, hard trails all the way! The climb to the Long man is a pig in the mud, but conditions were almost perfect. The Downs were packed with horses, bikers, ramblers and dog walkers, but everybody was friendly, accommodating and helpful. It was just a great day to be up there!

We finished in Friston Forest, which is also in pretty good condition, apart from the diversion route above the bomb holes, which is very muddy.

Yep, pretty unbelievable. Even after Thursday’s night ride the bike was filthy, this afternoon we had chalk dust on our tyres! It was fantastic to be out, I even had summer gloves and shoes on!

Just off the SDW near the Steyning trails at 17.30ish, perfect.
