What 4-6" adjustable full suss frame do i want? not cotic.
Whyte 46, stopped making them a couple years ago but you can get them 2nd hand at very good prices. Excellent spec, lightweight and you can adjust rear travel from 4" to 6" by a quick release lever, none of the swapping rockers etc. The head angle is not particulary slack and the bottom bracket is quite high but then you cant have everything! If you can get past the way they are slated by people who have never ridden one and actually ride one you will be very supprised. I sold mine and brought an E120 and after just over a year of riding it Im not sure if I made the correct decision.
He wants something slack up front and low slung.
One of those Konas with the magic link? They must be going cheap by now.
5"/6.5" rear travel adjust.
Travel adjust forks.
Really really cool.
LT2 going cheap here (if you're 5'10 you'll need the small)- http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/norco-fluid-lt-two-id46622.html
LT3 going cheap here- http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/norco-fluid-lt-item132875.html
How about a Commencal Super 4 or Orange ST4 apparently you can stick a 120mm fork on both of them they are both fairly low slung and I think the Commencal are going cheap at merlin
Nothing something we deal with but if your B2W is through evans then surely a Pace 405 has to be worth a look, ive had a quick blast on a customers and it was a very impressive piece of kit, good value too.
ST4 mentioned above does take more stick than most 4inch bikes and are a hoot to ride but its certainly not a bike for 'ploughing through stuff' - just bought a load of frames to do on offer so might treat myself to one with a revo maxlelite... yummy
To be honest I wouldn't bother with a ST4, just get a Five instead, very similar weight, better blast-ability
Bejesus I was beginning to loose faith in this site, took until the 2nd pages until the 5 was mentioned.
an older marin tara frame circa 2004-5,
they are 4-6" adjustable,
these frames can be got cheap
How about one of these?
Or a Transition BottleRocket.
TBH if the Ragly is built how Brant normally builds bikes ie long and low with a slack head angle it could well be my ideal FS.
this is my Helius AM - Adjustable from 120 - 160mm rear and 130-160mm up front....
lighter tyres and an air shock get it under 29lb, but it warrants plusher, and bigger hitting build specs..
fwiw, it'll tackle all UK trails comfortably, and the build quality is second to none :
no expense spared build there! CCDB, XTR etc etc!
apparently, i'm 'obsessive'
this thread is hilarious!
Van Halen has already said that he considers (with full legitimacy) a £1100 frame to be "bloody expensive" and above his budget.
somehow, we've interpreted his question as "what £3000+ bikes do you like?"
Rolf however makes a good point, those Norco's look like a lot of fun...
