My daughters coming up 12 in the summer + has shot up to 5'2", so needs a 26" bike now.
We'll mainly be riding Brechfa blue/green type stuff + some local country lane rides.
Anyone got any experience of whats good out there?
Would ideally I'd like something thats under 30lbs, HT with discs if possible, 14" Inbred???.
She'd like something blue or with flames (painted ones, I think).
    Any help appreciated.
    Cheers

Obviously dependant on budget but the Giant Talon 3 W is a lovely little bike for entry level trail use. Nice confidence inspiring ride position and a good colour to boot 😀

I know I love steel but an Inbred is not the lightest frame for a small person.I may have to suggest ally for once Pauls cycles and Winstanleys often have bargain small sizes

If price is no object, then the Islabikes Creig 26 is an option.

I'm not Islabikes biggest fan, I think the Rothan and Cnoc are over rated and over priced, but, a mate has 8Ojust bought one of these for his slightly bult daughter and it is incredibly light. Not cheap though at £600

looking at bikes for a friend recently and the Comencal(?) came out favourite. XS size would probably do the job.
    Depends on budget obviously.
Also noticed the new Raliegh mtrax look very tasty.
    Genesis Core
Maybe a Ribble if they still do mtbs, a mate got one yrs ago and it is a lovely wee bike.
There is just so much choice nowadys and there probably is`nt a bad one out there.
Got my wife a Specialised Myka(5.4in)Good dropped top tube for the short of leg person compared to others. Shop has sold quite a few since

With the Myka you will save £200 over the Isla and the GTs are notoriously stiff and rigid giving a bit of a rough ride for someone who may be a bit light

+1 for Islabike. My 10 year old has a rigid Beinn 26 inch and finds it much lighter and easier than the 20 inch Kona it replaced.

Mind you I got a 14 inch 456 in the sale that never was and that will be going into store for whichever of the kids needs it first.

Thats great, thanks. I'll have a trawl through that lot.
That Islabike looks good, but beyond NHS wages .
