Been feeling increasingly cramped on my 16″ 456Evo(mk1), especially on natural terrain. Trying to set up my forks to use the travel better and riding around Hebden is showing how poorly I weight the front – it quickly goes from not enough to precariously over the bars!

    Suggestions on technique welcome!

But I suspect the bike set up could be better, and I’m just hoping it isn’t going to require a new, longer frame (saving for a FS next year). I’m going to try reducing the spacers under the stem this week as a first move. Would a slightly longer stem help at all (I’d be happy to have slightly slower steering as a compromise)?

    Thanks!

Keep your weight balanced and through your feet by shifting your hips back as you drop your shoulders forwards. When you need to actively weight the bars, do it by pushing, not by leaning on them.
