  • Weekly photo challenge. 18.4.11 – 24.4.11 – Birds
  • Birds this week, on the ground, in the air, on water, it doesn’t matter, just get them in a picture with your bike.

    The rules;
    1. Take a photo of your bike with something that matches the theme in the background.
    2. Interpret the theme any way you like.
    3. Pictures should be taken between the dates in the topic title.
    4. If you post a picture you can either suggest a theme for next weeks challenge or vote for someone else’s suggestion. First suggestion to get two supporting votes becomes next weeks theme, probably.

I can see this thread getting abused with the interpritation. 8)

Among the birdlife I saw on my ride in this morning were swallows, yellowhammers, long tailed tits, a buzzard and all classes of corvids, all of which, unfortunately, I had trouble getting in the same shot as my bike.

However, as luck would have it, all was not lost as this close up of my bike and a sparrowhawk demonstrates…. 😉

The little white blob behind the hedge, directly above my pedal is a male Shelduck.

    Hi,

Asked my wife and she doesn’t know, they just said it was a hybrid in the shop at the garden centre. (It was bought as a replacement for one that got foxed :(, and only chosen by the kids for the colour – now we have a black one, a ginger one and a grey one.)

If I’m up at the centre I’ll pop in and ask.

    Cheers

Best I could manage yesterday – saw loads of pheasants on the moors but they seem to have an aversion to being photographed 🙂

Mind you that feather is on an Ibis so nearly there – click pic for more of a cracking day out on the North York Moors – I shall see if I can do better today 😀

Mrs LHome thought it may have been a lavender pekin, but after googling we agree with the Bluebell identification 🙂 just need to get out photographing over the long weekend…

    Cuteness overload . . .

I was sitting on the bike taking the pic honest – stopped to let them cross the canal path on the way back from Cwmcarn this afternoon 😀

Suggestion for next week . . . how about blue skies? Fingers crossed, eh?
