Fairly normal route in the Pentlands for me, but blue skies, no wind and 2 inches of fresh snow made things interesting.

I’ve finally given in. Dartmoor is an un-rideable swamp. I went for a hike instead. It was quite nice if you ignored the biting northerly.

Followed by a very impressive lamb tagine, by far the best trail centre caf.

    +1 Great pic

Thanks to Chinese New Year I managed to get Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday rides in last week.

There was no snow though Saturday was damp and misty, had to wear a layer for the first two runs.

Solo Peak District ride, the weather couldn’t have been much better and the trails have dried out loads since last weekend!

Friday managed to find some sunshine up GT, probably the first of the year!

Saturday was Ae, fairly unremarkable weather but the trails were running sweet. No pics though.

And then yesterday the snow arrived so went to Innerleithen to slide about. Good fun.

Spent most of Saturday in Wharncliffe woods, first time on my new build. Trails were a bit sticky in places but better than I expected.

Did a loop from home yesterday with bright blue skies, bit cold for cleaning the bikes at the end.

Cannock dog and monkey yesterday. Sunshine and 1 degree, absolutely awesome. Queues on the trails but I didn’t mind, was very social and got chatting to a few folk.

Very enjoyable local 36 mile cx route, making the most of the old railway lines. First proper ride for 6 weeks due to back playing up! Knew about on the hills! Beautiful sunshine, snow on the trails, mud…oh and ice rain and hail! Still great – just decided to sing during the rain to keep smiling! So nice to be back out on the bike for a few hours with p20.

Sun and snow beats wind and rain every time. It was even warm in some sheltered spots.

This weekend, round 1 of the Oz Gravity Enduro Series in Bright Vic.
Was over on the big island for work so picked up a camper and headed up the road Friday.

Got up there and it was a nice toasty 35c, other issue was that practice was canned for the Saturday due to Extreme fire Danger so went to ride the toughest stage, about 12km and 2.5l of water later it was time for a break

After chatting with a few people decided to head up and do the shuttles up the mountain, a refreshing 25c up top

Race day comes with some morning practice then a lot of hiding from the sun waiting for the start 🙂 Thankfully SRAM provided some shade and parking while, Curtis Keene popped in for a minor service (think they replaced a damper, serviced the forks, changed the chainrings, mech and chain etc.) so had a good chat about EWS and racing around the world.

Then off to the hills for a great afternoon out, my first real Enduro n a few years and the heat got the better of me with cramp kicking in early. But all good fun, riding with some great people and having fun on the trails.
Finished up with some beers 🙂

All in a top weekend, finishing up with dinner in the pub with some locals, Cedic and Chris Ball talking bikes, Enduro and which country serves the best breakfast.

Did an overnight bivvy in Wales. It was freezing cold!! this is the only pic, it was too cold to take my gloves off and piss about with the camera. It took over 10 hours to get back home 86 miles on the fatbike, I left at 2.00am because I was so cold. The sheep were getting on my tits too, noisy bastards. Every turn of the pedals was a nightmare, lack of sleep and cold. It rained, hailed, snowed and blew a gale. Felt like chucking the bike off this cliff.

Somehow managed to get the 16 year-old away from the computer and out for a spin.

EDIT: attaching images to this forum is apparently beyond me 🙂

Saturday: steady 85Km road ride then headed out with my wife for a bivvy.

Sunday: rode home from the bivvy

As @bumper notes it was effing freezing overnight!

Bumper, great pic and kudos for braving being out overnight.
Bigjim that’s a great photo as others have already said, but thought I’d mention it again.

I’m doing short rides when I can as I have a 8 day old baby to attend to!

I’ve cheered up a bit since I got home. I didn’t fancy going but I had it all planned, and the weather looked so nice on Sunday morning. Once I got there I’d had enough, tried not to think about the ride home. I just couldn’t turn the pedals.

Warmth, food and beer made it all better.

Same as bigjim, I was at Glentress on Saturday. Did the enduro trails with one brake which resulted in me hitting a couple of trees, which had the added bonus result of the trees shedding all their snaw on top of me. Good times. Luckily I’d fixed the brake before we did super steep.
