Worth using for cloud based app with ms sql db? Or not?

It looks like they effectively takeover your DNS and run all traffic through their network from one of their local datacentres which filter incoming traffic.

There’s also some attraction for us in being able to locate servers running the app in the UK but have fast access to them from other parts of the world without relying on local ISP’s for international bandwidth which sometimes seems to be throttled.

I realise this is a big area but at the moment I’m trying to work out if it’s worth investing any time/effort/money in investigating it further or if we’d be better off looking elsewhere for something that’s ‘a bit more than a firewall’.
