We’ve got four almost unworn Avon Ice Touring tyres on steel wheels that we bought for Mrs Gti’s Ibiza, which we are selling. I plan to leaflet cars in car parks that take the same tyre size – is there a way of getting a list of models that take our size?

Am also planning to Ebay them, making the ad visible in France, Switzerland etc. but I fear the carriage charges will make them unattractive.

Try mytyres.co.uk as they sell the steel wheel packages. You may just have to put similar size cars in one at a time to check compatibility. I would have though most VAG stuff of a similar size. What size are they, and how much? I’ll check to see if they fit my wife’s Yeti.

Sell them with the car?

I’d just say what car they have come off and let the buyer do the donkey work and decide if they are for them. You are opening yourself up to – “they don’t fit mate!”. And return postage at your expense.

Carriage for wheels and tyres to Europe will cost a fortune, and won’t be cheap even in the UK.

Just find out the tyre size, wheel stud pattern, wheel offset and stick them on ebay.

We’re selling them with the boot kit of a jack and wheelbrace so that owners can throw away the latex and pump and keep one in the well for spare.

I’d just get a stealth ad up on a MTB forum.

Ha ha it can’t do any harm. But car parks are full of Ibizas and I’m sure stacks of others that would take this size and they have the merit of being local. Hence my original question.

The ibiza should be 5 x 100 PCD.

That fits newer VAG group small cars (polo, fabia, audi a1 etc) and older (upto about 2005ish) golfs, passats etc.
