I’ve got a WordPress website that i setup recently. i’m a graphic designer (and not a coder, hence WordPress), and i’m using it as a portfolio. It works fine with Firefox and Safari, but does not work properly with IE on a PC. The problem is that the homepage slideshow is not showing up – it should simply be a sequence of 4 images fading from one to the next. It just shows a static ‘problem image’ box. There are also ‘problem images’ above the thumbnails on the homepage.

Can anyone help? Or does anyone know of any web forums where I might get some advice.

Here’s the address: http://www.wallflowercreative.co.uk

This is definitely not an advert. It’s a genuine call for help. Thanks for reading.

Looking at the source looks like you got double double quotes at the start of your image tags – i.e. <img src=””http://www….. – which could be causing a problem for the images under the navigation.

Then up in the slideshow you’ve got “<img src=”<a href=”http://www…..” so i’m guessing maybe you’ve copied the image into one of the WordPress fields incorrectly?

there’s some very odd HTML in there, like:
edit: cannot work out how to post visible HTML

even firefox/firebug is getting confused, but it still works, whereas IE just gives up. I have no knowledge of WordPress, but perhaps you’re giving it page URLs instead of picture URLs?

all sorted. problem was both double quotes, and incorrect usage of WordPress fields. needed just the URL for the image, rather than all the extra guff that WordPress was auto putting in there. thanks for the help.
