I have a webpage I need regular access to so have created a shortcut on my desktop. The problem is that the page does not work in my default browser (Firefox) so I need it to open in Internet Explorer. Anyone know how I can do this other than opening up Internet Explorer and using favourites?

Right click the shortcut, properties, change the first bit of the target to

    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"

So to shortcut to here change the whole target to

    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/web-page-shortcuts

Make a shortcut to Internet Explorer.
Go to the properties of the shortcut and where it says “Target” you need to add a bit to it so that instead of:

    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"

    It says:

    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome http://www.singletrackworld.com

Perfect thanks. It would have taken me days to get that out of my work colleagues…and I work for an IT company!

Use Chrome. There’s even a command for making a desktop shortcut.

If it doesn’t work in Firefox then it probably won’t work in Chrome either.
